The Compassionate Gaze
Wednesday, July 29; 1:00 pm ET / 10:00 am PT / 8:00 pm Israel
This session, led by our colleague E. Noach Shapiro, introduces Compassionate Gaze, a pastoral and personal framework for healing work that can be incorporated into your rabbinic practice. The Compassionate Gaze helps rabbis understand the dynamics of emotional and spiritual change and struggle and, as a result, be powerfully present with others in their healing, without feeling a responsibility to “fix.” Compassionate Gaze is a concrete tool and a conceptual framework that allows us to be active pastoral companions in the suffering of others in a way that’s healing for them and sustainable–even nourishing– for us.
