Bios of New Officers and Executive Council Members
Officers

President: Rabbi Jay Kornsgold
Rabbi Jay Kornsgold, ordained at JTS in 1993, has been the rabbi at Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor, New Jersey since 1994. He presently serves as Vice President of the Rabbinical Assembly, a member of the Administrative Committee and Executive Council, Chair of the Investment Committee, Chair of the Budget Committee, Co-Chair of the Dover Emet Committee, and a member of the Social Justice Commission and Development Committee of the RA. Jay is an active member of the New Jersey State Cemetery Board, the National Council of AIPAC, the Rabbinic Advisory Council of State of Israel Bonds, the Board of Directors of MERCAZ, and the Masorti Foundation. He previously served as Treasurer and Secretary of the RA, Past President of the New Jersey Region of the RA, Chair of the Social Justice Commission for ten years, Chair of the Resolutions Committee for five years, and has been a member of numerous Rabbinical Assembly committees over the years.

Vice President: Rabbi Gesa Ederberg
The second female Rabbi in Berlin after Regina Jonas, Rabbi Gesa Ederberg serves as the rabbi of the “Oranienburger Strasse Synagogue” of the Juedische Gemeinde zu Berlin. She was ordained in 2002 at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. She is the founder of Masorti Germany, with the Masorti Kindergarten serving 80 children and their families, and the “Jewish International School – Masorti Grundschule,“ a bilingual Hebrew-German Day School for grades 1-6, which opened in August 2018.
Gesa is a board member and the treasurer of the International Rabbinical Assembly of Masorti/Conservative Rabbis and co-founded its European region. She was essential for founding the Masorti Rabbinical Seminary “Zacharias Frankel College” in Berlin/Potsdam.
Gesa is a founding member of IsraAID Germany, supporting refugees in Germany. Her publications include several prayer books, articles, and radio features, and “Pluspunkt Deutsch für jüdische Zuwanderer” (a German language book for Jewish Immigrants).

Treasurer: Rabbi Aaron Brusso
Since 2009, Rabbi Aaron Brusso has served as the senior rabbi of Bet Torah in Mt. Kisco, New York. In addition to leading in the Bet Torah community, Aaron serves as an officer of the Rabbinical Assembly, is co-chair of our RA’s 3.0 strategic planning process, serves on the JTS Chancellor’s rabbinic cabinet, and is a past chair of the Joint Placement Commission of the USCJ and RA. He is also a Senior Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute, a vocal supporter of immigration rights, and was awarded the 2020 Human Rights Hero award from T’ruah.
Before joining Bet Torah, Aaron served nine years as rabbi at Adath Jeshurun Congregation in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Aaron received his ordination and master’s degree in Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in 2000. He has written articles featured in The Forward, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, and Slate and been featured in the Washington Post.

Financial Secretary: Rabbi Annie Tucker
Rabbi Annie Tucker is the Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel Center in White Plains, NY, having previously served at Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah in Wilmette, IL (2013-2019) and The Jewish Center in Princeton, NJ (2006-2013). She currently chairs the RA's Joint Placement Commission and is on its Executive Council and Administrative Committee. She also participated in the RA's Strategic Visioning efforts, was Limmud Chair for the Chicago convention (2018), and served on the Executive Vice President Search Committee in 2009. Outside of her involvement with the Rabbinical Assembly, Annie is active with the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she was ordained in 2006, and the Westchester Board of Rabbis. She looks forward to her continued work with the RA!

Secretary: Rabbi D’ror Chankin-Gould
Rabbi D’ror Chankin-Gould has proudly served Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago, Illinois, since 2015. D'ror is a southern California native ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2013. He was amongst the first openly gay students to be accepted to a Conservative Movement seminary. Before coming to Anshe Emet, D'ror completed CPE residency as a chaplain at UCLA Medical Center. He serves on the Executive Council and the Administrative Committee of the Rabbinical Assembly and as a co-chair of the RA’s Gender and Power Committee. D’ror served as president of the Chicago Rabbinical Assembly from 2018 to 2020.
Executive Council

Rabbi Jill Borodin
Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Rabbi Jill Borodin is the senior rabbi at Congregation Beth Shalom in Seattle, WA, where she has served since 2005. Before Beth Shalom, Jill worked as Rav sheni at Har Zion Temple outside of Philadelphia, PA. She has a global awareness, having lived in Canada, Israel, France, and the United States and volunteered with Romania's Jewish community. Jill is one of the first female senior rabbis in the Rabbinical Assembly and is familiar with different complexities connected to gender, dating, single parenting, and blended families in the rabbinate. She is interested in different ways to teach Torah, including using the arts as a way to explore Torah. Jill is also interested in building sacred communities and living Torah through kindness and activism. She will put this energy towards supporting rabbis and their communities by helping our RA to think about inclusion, diversity, new ways of learning and teaching Torah and building community. Jill has served on the Executive Council since 2021 and is part of the strategic planning group working on updating the RA Code of Conduct.

Rabbi Bruce Dollin
Rabbi Bruce Dollin retired in August 2022 as the Senior Rabbi of the Hebrew Educational Alliance, a synagogue in Denver, Colorado, where he had served since 1994. Bruce was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1986 and served a congregation in Morris County, NJ, before moving to Denver. His recent RA service includes serving on the Strategic Planning Committee and convening an affinity group for retiring and retired rabbis. As a member of the Executive Council, he looks forward to working on the upcoming convention in Denver and helping the RA better meet the needs and draw on the skills of its retired members. Bruce has extensive board experience, including serving on the boards of his local JCC, Federation, AIPAC, and Camp Ramah in the Rockies.

Rabbi Katie Greenberg
Rabbi Katie Greenberg is the Rabbi-Director of Engagement & Programming at the Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale (CSAIR), NY, where she is focused on adult education and relationship building. Katie was ordained at JTS in 2018, earning her MA in Jewish education and a certificate in pastoral care. As part of her role at CSAIR, Katie works on dues arrangements and fundraising and is happy to bring that knowledge and experience to our RA. Katie brings a wealth of experience from her time as a rabbinic intern at the Allen Pavilion Hospital in Manhattan and as the Program Coordinator for the Milstein Center for Interreligious Dialogue at JTS. She helped create the RA Engagement Rabbis’ Community of Practice and is involved in the Parents of Children with Special Needs Affinity Group and our RA’s Women's Network Happy Hour. Katie is excited about working to encourage and launch more communities of practice and affinity groups to support the diversity of our rabbis. She looks forward to contributing to our RA because she is so grateful for all our RA has done for her.

Rabbi Corey Helfand
Rabbi Corey Helfand is the senior rabbi of Ohr Kodesh in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In 2011, he received his rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary as well as a Master’s degree in Talmud and Jewish law and a concentration in pastoral care. While at JTS, he was a recipient of the Gladstein Fellowship and studied entrepreneurship rabbinics, with an emphasis on visioning and community building. Before joining Ohr Kodesh in July 2021, Corey served as the Senior Rabbi of Peninsula Sinai (PSC) in the Bay Area, where, under his leadership, PSC revolutionized the financial model for synagogues. Before joining the RA’s Executive Council in 2021, he served as the president of the Bay Area RA for five years and on the executive council of the Bay Area Board of Rabbis. Corey has served as an AJWS Global Justice Fellow and participated in the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s clergy cohort.

Rabbi Susan Leider
Rabbi Susan Leider was ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2006. With Insyte Partners, an international transformation consultancy, she focuses on working with Jewish organizations. She is also a visiting rabbi at Congregation Beth Sholom in San Francisco and Congregation Beth Shalom Center for Jewish Life in Modesto, CA. At Congregation Kol Shofar, Susan was the first woman to be a senior rabbi at a Northern California Conservative congregation after serving as Associate Rabbi at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles. She is a member of the Joint Placement Commission, the RA Subcommittee on Racial Justice, and the Audit Committee. Susan is part of the RA Progressive Zionists affinity group and is involved in Haverim Connection. She has served as an RA career services coach and facilitator. Susan is dedicated to addressing the spiritual and professional needs of rabbis who work in a wide variety of roles, especially rabbis who serve independently.

Rabbi Karen Reiss Medwed
Rabbi Karen G. Reiss Medwed, Ph.D., D.D., was ordained by JTS in 1995 and is the Senior Assistant Dean, Faculty Affairs and Teaching Professor, College of Professional Studies, Northeastern University, in which capacity she teaches and advises others on online education, network science, and faith-based education. Karen is a member of the Joint Bet Din and is currently the only certified, practicing female-identifying Mesadderet Gittin in the Conservative Movement. She is a co-chair of the RA Membership Task Force. Karen is passionate about helping our RA share our Torah and expanding how the RA supports and includes members in a wide variety of professional roles.
Regional Representatives

Rabbi Alexander Davis
Rabbi Alexander Davis is the senior rabbi of Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park, MN, where he previously served as an associate rabbi. In 1999, he graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary with rabbinic ordination and an M.A. in Jewish Education. Since moving to the Twin Cities, Alexander has served on a variety of local boards and has participated in national conferences on Judaism and spirituality and synagogue leadership. He is passionate about learning and teaching Torah and lives to share the beauty, wisdom, and meaning of Jewish living with others. He has served on the Executive Council since March 2023.

Rabbi Leah Fein
Rabbi Leah Fein is the Senior Director of Engagement at Columbia/Barnard Hillel in New York City. Before joining the CB Hillel team in 2019, Leah worked at Syracuse Hillel in NY, first as Campus Rabbi and then as Interim Executive Director. Her leadership helped transform Syracuse Hillel, which earned Hillel International’s Outstanding Campus Award in 2019. In 2015 Leah was ordained and received an MA in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary. She has served on the Executive Council since March 2023.

Rabbi Ben Herman
Rabbi Ben Herman is the senior rabbi at Mosaic Law Congregation in Sacramento, California. He has served our RA in numerous ways, including as a member of the Conversion Committee, the Derech Eretz Committee, the Systemic Racism Subcommittee, and the Pastoral Outreach Team. Ben recently became President of the Northern California RA Cluster cohort. He has been a Legacy Heritage Fellow, a participant in the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Clergy Leadership Program, a JOIN for Justice Rabbinic Fellow, a Pardes Mahloket Matters Fellow, a Hadar-JJ Greenberg Institute Fellow, and most recently, a member of the Clergy Leadership Incubator cohort. Ben was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2011 where he received the Einhorn Hebrew Prize and the Miller Bible Prize.

Rabbi Esther Reed
Rabbi Esther Reed is the Chief Experience Officer of Rutgers Hillel, an organization she has served since her 2001 ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she also earned a master's degree in Jewish Women's Studies. Esther has served the RA in multiple capacities, including as the newly-elected president of the New Jersey region, the RA-USCJ Steering Committee, the Nominations Committee, the Conversion Commission, and as a mentor to colleagues regarding campus work. She received the Clement A. Price Human Dignity Award from the Rutgers University Committee To Advance our Common Purposes; the Richard M. Joel Exemplar of Excellence Award, the highest honor for a Hillel professional, and the Wexner Graduate Fellowship.
